Dufek & Company specializes and only audits employee benefit plans. The only two people in the firm are the owners - Scott and Nancy. This allows us to fully understand your business and your benefit plan(s). It also provides continuity in staffing and allows you face time with the people that understand the Department of Labor and Internal Revenue Service expectations for your employee benefit plan and its corresponding audit.
The biggest distinction between our firm and our competitors (aside from our low fees) is the length of your audit. We pride ourselves in our expertise and our ability to get your testing done right the first time. This allows the audit to be completed in as little as three weeks. It is common for other firms to start the audit in May and issue request lists all summer only to first issue their report in October!

We are specialists - we only audit employee benefit plans such as 401k plan audits, 403b plan audits, ESOP audits, Pension Plan audits, etc.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
After the fall of Enron, accounting rules and regulations began changing at an unprecedented rate. The rapid changes in accounting standards made it increasing difficult to be an accounting 'generalist'. The partners of Dufek & Company, LLC made a conscious effort to focus their energies at obtaining an expertise in one field - employee benefit plan auditing.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We differentiate ourselves from competing firms by specializing. Most (if not all) other local CPA firms will boast that they are 'full-service' firms. We boast that we are not. We specialize - you save!
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are currently working out of one office in Eagle, WI. We anticipate opening a second office in (or around) Chicago in the second quarter of 2010.
